Amy Bebbington

Amy Bebbington is in great demand as a choral director and choir trainer, and has worked extensively throughout the UK and USA. Graduating with First Class Honours and a Masters Degree in Piano Performance, Amy was awarded a Doctor of Musical Arts, specialising in Choral Conducting, from Texas Tech University.

Amy tutors for the nationally regarded Choral Conducting courses for the Association of British Choral Directors, and has worked extensively with choirs of all ages, abilities and demographics. As guest clinician, she has appeared on Gareth Malone’s The Choir: Sing while you work (series 2), and has worked for the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain and Amabile amongst numerous others. As a teacher trainer/animateur, she has worked for Trinity/Open University, Glyndebourne Education Outreach, The Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Music of Life, Sing Up, Youth Music and Sing for Pleasure.

As a pianist, Amy has appeared in Masterclasses with Roger Vignoles and Christopher Elton, as founding repetiteur with Opera Femina, as soloist for numerous orchestras and festivals, and with The Shout. As a singer, she has performed with award-winning choirs on BBC1, BBC Radio 3 and at choral conferences in England and the USA. Amy is a keen composer and has had choral works published by Shawnee Press (USA) and Banks Music Publications (UK); works which have been performed internationally by several leading choirs.

Amy recently held a 5-year directorship for the Junior Department choirs at The Royal College of Music and is currently Musical Director for Dorking Camerata, Holmbury St. Mary Choral Society and Stevens & Bolton Office Choir. She also forms part of the instrumental faculty (piano) at Wellington College.
