About Dorking Camerata:
Under the musical direction of Amy Bebbington, Dorking Camerata is a chamber choir of approximately 25 members. We perform three concerts a year in the Dorking area and have a varied, interesting and often challenging repertoire. We usually sing one a cappella concert a year and our October concert is part of the Mole Valley Arts Alive Festival. In 2014 the choir sang in London as part of the Brandenburg Festival.
Started in 1997 by Neil Cathmoir as a group of friends with a love of singing, the choir has sung under the musical directorship of both Chris Dawes and Justin Doyle and haѕ had a series of guest conductors: Ian Assersohn, Will Dawes, Eamonn Dougan, Joe Fort, Piers Maxim, Aidan Oliver, Philip White and Dave Young.
With a loyal local following, we always strive for excellence but we never lose sight of our founding principles: the sheer delight of singing and the camaraderie of friendship.
Dorking Camerata is a Registered Charity No. 1099024
